Join the fight against single use plastic
Sick of Plastic is a national campaign being coordinated by VOICE Ireland and Friends of the Earth to connect and empower communities to take action against plastic.
On April 21st thousands of people left their plastic packaging behind in supermarkets in protest agains unnecessary single use, non recyclable plastic packaging. The Sick of Plastic campaign is also supporting the Waste Reduction Bill, through this campaign we are encouraging Irish people to urge the government to take real action against plastic waste.
The Waste Reduction Bill is proposing;
1. A ban on single use disposable cups and tableware
2. Introduce a deposit and refund scheme for drinks containers
